Most of the accidents happening in this universe are while sleeping during driving.To avoid this type of accidents the "University of Nottingham Trend" is planning to introduce a new type of "SMART CAR SEAT."In general,there is only an alarm based system available to detect the sleeping of drivers while driving.But in their research,they are planning to fit a sensor in driver's seat directly .it senses the heartbeat of the driver. if the driver loses his conscious,the sensor will give warning to driver initially.if there is no response for that warning,then it sends a command signal to the controller to control the speed of the vehicle automatically.even though this technology is identified,this is not yet implemented due to the undergoing research of continual monitoring of heartbeat.The sensors sit on the back of the seat with the electrodes designed to detect the electronic signature of the heart through clothing.The device uses six embedded sensors to monitor heart activity Research has shown that drivers suffering from cardiovascular disease are 23 per cent more likely to be involved in a road accident, rising to 52 per cent for drivers suffering from angina - chest pains caused by the heart.
